I
am Randy Baustert also known as The Hermit. I have been called
The Hermit since 1992 when I was doing property management on
a little island in the US Virgin Islands. Because I was working
and living on a little island with a population of about 50 I
hardly ever left the island. The people that I rented to soon
started to call me The Hermit.
The
name stuck so well that I actually received mail addressed:
The
Hermit
St. Thomas, VI
That
was all it said no address, no zip code just that and it made
it to me. Since then I have been called The Hermit by numerous
people quite a few that don't actually know my real name.
Being
a Hermit has allowed me to devote a lot of time to my computer
in my cave and I have been building websites, installing scripts
and doing search engine optimization for private clients since
1994.
Unfortunately,
if you came here looking for search engine optimization. I have
stopped taking clients. I am focusing on learning marketing now
and getting away from the technical aspects of the internet.
I
have discovered there is a lot more money in marketing then I
could make doing work for private clients.
There
is a list of my sites to the right and you can check out my blog
to see what I am up to now. But I will give you a review of some
of the things going on.
You
will notice a link to The Hermit's Halloween Section. This is
something that I put together back in 1999 just to see what I
could do with the technology that was available at that time.
Using a combination of flash and Java I created a site using the
graphics that I had and some sound effects.
This
section still gets a lot of visitors around the end of October
every year. I consists of a bunch of Bad Halloween jokes many
with an adult theme. I would have to rate it PG-14 for those that
know what that means. It is totally for fun and not funded in
any way (see why I need to study marketing) check it out using
the link on the right.
I
have also written a book on Search Engine Optimization which I
have never released I was putting a site together to sell it at
Common-Sense-SEO.com
but I never finished the site because I decided to include it
in another project that you will see later. You can see some examples
of how well these techniques work. You can also see my results
from expertrating.com which is a website that does certification
for a bunch of fortune 500 companies and online services like
RentACoder.com. In fact if you check out the topscores page and
scroll down to search engine optimization test and search engine
marketing certification you might still see my name there. Expert

I
have also written a book on Pixel Marketing that I released for
free along with a pixel ad script. From my site MarketingWithPixels.net
This site is still live and functional even though the pixel ad
craze does seem to be slowing down now.
I
have another site that sells software that I have found useful
in my endeavours online. You can see that at Software-N-Scripts.com
but since this is a commercial site I won't say much more about
it here. If you want to know more then click on the link.
I
also have a site that at the time of this writing is still in
the production phase. This is aimed at people just starting out
in internet marketing and is appropriatley called MarketingBeginners.com
It will provide lessons on how to build your own website, capture
email addresses, write better ads, create your own ebook, how
to use niche postion tactics, the benefits of positive thinking,
how to create or be a super affiliate, the power of viral marketing
and of course my ebook Common Sense Search Engine Optimization.
All of this is FREE just for signing up the site also has some
paid memberships that can make you an instant expert and provide
you with advance lessons and products for you to sell. So you
can go from beginner to expert quickly.
So
as you can see I stay pretty busy and my next project will be
my biggest to date. I won't tell you what it is yet but I will
tell you that it is called Push Button Simplicity |
